چکیده
High-temperature stress can cause serious abiotic damage that limits the yield and quality of cotton plants. Heat Tolerance (HT) during different developmental stages guarantee a high under heat stress. HT is complex trait regulated by multiple quantitative loci (QTLs). In this study, F2 population derived from cross between MNH-886, heat-tolerant cultivar, MNH-814, heat-sensitive variety, was used to map QTLs morphological in cotton. A genetic covering 4402.7 cm, with 175 marker 26 linkage groups, constructed using (94 individuals). This evaluated for 23 morpho-physiological contributing traits QTL analysis via composite interval mapping detected 17 QTLs: three each Total Number Sympodes (TNS), Length Bract (LOB), Staminal-column (LOS); two First Sympodial Node Height (FSH), one (SNH), Percent Boll set on second position along Sympodia (PBS), Nodes (TNN), Bolls (NOB), Buds (TNB), Petal (LOP). Individually, accounted 7.76%–36.62% phenotypic variation. identified linked tolerance facilitate marker-assisted breeding

GhABF2, a bZIP transcription factor, confers drought and salinity tolerance in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)
The bZIP transcription factor (TF) act as an important regulator for the abscisic acid (ABA) mediated abiotic stresses signaling pathways in plants. Here, we reported the cloning and characterization of GhABF2, encoding for typical cotton bZIP TF. Overexpression of GhABF2 significantly improved drought and salt stress tolerance both in Arabidopsis and cotton. However, silencing of GhABF2 made t...
متن کاملInfraspecific DNA methylation polymorphism in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.).
Cytosine methylation is important in the epigenetic regulation of gene expression and development in plants and has been implicated in silencing duplicate genes after polyploid formation in several plant groups. Relatively little information exists, however, on levels and patterns of methylation polymorphism (MP) at homologous loci within species. Here we explored the levels and patterns of met...
متن کاملResponse and Tolerance Mechanism of Cotton Gossypium hirsutum L. to Elevated Temperature Stress: A Review
Cotton is an important multipurpose crop which is highly sensitive to both biotic and abiotic stresses. Proper management of this cash crop requires systematic understanding of various environmental conditions that are vital to yield and quality. High temperature stress can severely affect the viability of pollens and anther indehiscence, which leads to significant yield losses. Cotton can resp...
متن کاملIdentification and characterization of CONSTANS-like (COL) gene family in upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)
The CONSTANS/FLOWERING LOCUS T (CO/FT) regulon plays a central role in the control of flowering time in photoperiod-sensitive plants. Flowering time in wild cotton (Gossypium spp.) has strict photoperiod sensitivity, but domesticated cotton is day-neutral. Information on the molecular characterization of the CO and CO-like (COL) genes in cotton is very limited. In this study, we identified 42 C...
متن کاملQTL analysis for early-maturing traits in cotton using two upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) crosses
Making use of the markers linked closely to QTL for early-maturing traits for MAS (Marker-assisted selection) is an effective method for the simultaneous improvement of early maturity and other properties in cotton. In this study, two F2 populations and their F2:3 families were generated from the two upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) crosses, Baimian2 × TM-1 and Baimian2 × CIR12. QTL for ea...
